The Centre for Society & Genomics (the Netherlands), in collaboration with the ESRC Genomics Network (United Kingdom) and Valgen (Canada) will hold its biannual Conference on Society and Genomics on 27-28 May  2010 in Amsterdam.

May 28 and 29, 2010, an interesting mix of social scientists, ethicists, philosophers, anthropologists, sociologists and genomics researchers met in the opulent KIT/Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands to discuss where we stand in the field of societal genomics research. Entitled 'Ten Years After: Mapping the Societal Genomics Landscape", the 2-yearly conference of the Centre for Society and Genomics (CSG) aimed to tackle the achievements and developments within the societal genomics field since the elucidation of the sequence of the human genome in 2000. But the discussion didn't stop at the present. Looking back was seamlessly followed up by looking ahead. We asked participants and speakers what they think will be or should be on the agenda of societal genomics research in the coming years.  Here's what they had to say. Read on
